Hinge, then Bumble. "Must be fate, here's my number!"
Stephanie liked Kyle’s career, his music taste and talent, and that he immediately made her feel safe and secure. Kyle liked Stephanie’s eyes, her ability to bring him out of his shell, and that she had her shit together.
Our first date was eating Gaines Street Pies (shoutout to the "Honey I Shrunk the Pigs" pizza) and watching random television shows. After a few dates, Kyle suggested watching Twin Peaks — something we had both been interested in but never watched. We fell into it, hard, and by the end of two seasons, a movie, and a reboot season, we had fallen in love with each other, too.
We quickly realized we enjoyed getaways together -- from a small weekend adventure to St. Augustine to a week-long trip to Seattle, Washington. We created "Kyle and Stephanie's Roadtrip Playlist" on Spotify, and decided that visiting at least one local bookstore was a mandatory trip activity. We also developed a tradition of buying a christmas ornament from each location, and we’re looking forward to filling the tree from our honeymoon tour of the national parks.
Over the past four years, we have exposed each other to new genres of TV shows (she showed him the RuPaul's Drag Race universe, and he showed her anime); had deep conversations about our lives, values, goals, and hopes; goofed off every day; and enjoyed many nights playing video/board/tabletop games together.
It didn't take long for us to know that we wanted to spend forever together. We feel so lucky and are so thrilled to begin this next chapter!
